The Chicago shoot is all said and done and was a pretty good success. The event was hugely attended and the clients all loved the videos we produced for them and everything got done with plenty of time left before air. The “skits” took a bit longer than planned to shoot, but for once we had the talent there for the whole time we needed them for. All the equipment held up great with the only problem really being the H.264/Final Cut Pro 7 incompatibility. This time though we gave ourselves enough time to convert the H.264 to ProRes so the workflow went much, much smother. With the clients own in house facility still using FCP 7, so are we, but at some point our client has got to finally change over to a newer editor so I’ve started testing FCPX and Premier. But that’s a much longer blog post!
